It’s day seven of The Edinburgh Fringe. I’ve been on the booze and fags since I got here but now my wife and little boys have arrived so I’m back in dad mode, just in the nick of time!
It’s been a positive week. More good shows than bad, and I’m getting better each day. I’ve had two lovely, thoughtful reviews, both of which were really positive about ESSEX LION, neither offering any criticisms.
Jay Richardson in Fest said: “Essex Lion consolidates his burgeoning reputation as a poet.”
Roger Cox in The Scotsman said: “We get poems on subjects most image-conscious performers wouldn’t touch with the toe of a vintage Converse trainer, all of them delivered with Wright’s trademark mixture of wit, self-deprecation and humorous half-rhymes.”
I might order a curry.
