Other Info | One of Beck’s virtues as a musician is that he’s never allowed himself, or his fans, to get bored. Playfully experimenting with musical conventions and crossing genres, the consistent theme across his music, in his recorded output and live shows, is a dedication to doing something different. Following recent projects, including electrifying performances with a full gospel choir and a live presentation, with special guests, of his album Song Reader – released only as sheet music - here he indulges his deepening interest in the relationship between words and music, performing soundscapes alongside readings by some of Britain’s most acclaimed poets. Joined by special guests including Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), the ensemble led by Beck will weave intricate music with readings by poets Simon Armitage, Paul Farley, Jemima Foxtrot, Lavinia Greenlaw, Don Paterson, Sam Riviere and Luke Wright – set to a backdrop of video projections by Doug Aitken. |
